Shea Charles played the full 90 minutes in Northern Ireland's EURO 2024 qualifying victory, whilst Sam Amo-Ameyaw scored his first goal for England's Under-18s.

Saints' young midfielder was handed his fourth consecutive start in Group H and continued his trend of featuring for the length of each of those games.

Deployed in a defensive midfield role against San Marino, Charles looked on as QPR's Paul Smyth opened the scoring inside five minutes but was involved in the move shortly after that resulted in Wigan Athletic's Josh Magennis doubling the lead.

After having two further goals ruled out in the first half, the Green and White Army added their third through St Mirren's Conor McMenamin in the closing stages.

Elsewhere, youngster Sam Amo-Ameyaw started, alongside Academy defender Jayden Meghoma, for England's Under-18s as they faced Morocco in preparation for the upcoming Under-17 World Cup.

Amo-Ameyaw scored the game's decisive goal after just ten minutes at the Marbella Football Centre with his first Young Lions strike at Under-18s level.

Newcastle’s Anthony Munda was the provider with a pinpoint cross that Amo-Ameyaw finished at the near post.

Finally, overnight, Charly Alcaraz made his international debut for Argentina's Under-23s, starting in a goalless draw against Venezuala under the watchful eye of the World Cup champions' senior management.
