Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side are back in Barclays Women’s Championship action for the visit of Durham on Sunday, with an earlier midday kick-off at Snows Stadium.

Saints will be playing their third game in a week after a thrilling Conti Cup clash with WSL opponents Bristol City on Wednesday night, where Lexi Lloyd-Smith's equaliser took the game to penalties that secured a bonus point.

In the league, Saints made a quick return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Watford last Sunday thanks to goals from Sophia Pharoah and Molly Pike at Grosvenor Vale.

Durham currently sit in seventh with two wins, draws, and defeats evenly spread across their opening six league games.

Claire Ditchburn's side are yet to win away from home after conceding deep into stoppage time in a 1-1 draw against Charlton last week, but The Wildcats did edge out Blackburn Rovers to win 3-2 in the Conti Cup on Wednesday.

Saints will be looking to put in another strong performance to back up their midweek cup heroics and maintain their spot at the top of the table.

Manager’s Notes

Speaking after Wednesday night's dramatic Conti Cup outing against Bristol City, Marieanne Spacey-Cale looked ahead with full focus to the visit of Durham.

“The recovery day tomorrow means the players will recover and make sure they get the rest, sleep and the food and everything they need, they know what they need to do and we'll be back out on Friday starting to prepare again.

"It is tough having three games in a week but that's why they train as hard as they do and recover the way they do, and they buy into everything we ask so they can manage themselves in these tough moments."
