Saints' Scottish duo qualify for EURO 2024
It was a great night for Southampton pair Ché Adams and Stuart Armstrong, as Scotland clinched their qualification for EURO 2024 – even without kicking a ball.
With only five nations in Group A, it was Scotland’s turn to sit out the latest round of qualifiers, but a 1-0 victory for Spain in Norway was enough to ensure the Tartan Army will finish in the top two, therefore achieving automatic qualification.
A solitary goal early in the second half from Barcelona teenager Gavi also secured Spain’s place at next summer’s tournament in Germany with two games to spare.
Next up for Scotland, who have now qualified for two of the last three major tournaments after a 23-year absence, is a friendly against France in Lille on Tuesday night.
