Southampton pair Ché Adams and Stuart Armstrong helped put Scotland on the brink of qualifying for EURO 2024 with a 3-0 win in Cyprus.

All the goals came in the first half in Larnaca, as Scott McTominay, Ryan Porteous and John McGinn found the net inside the opening 30 minutes.

Adams started the game as the lone striker, lasting 67 minutes before he was replaced, while Armstrong was introduced from the bench in the 84th minute.

The result extends Scotland’s perfect start to 15 points from five matches, virtually guaranteeing their place at next summer’s final tournament in Germany.

Next up for the Tartan Army is a friendly with England at Hampden Park on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere, Sam Amo-Ameyaw was also in international action, playing the last 20 minutes of England Under-18s’ 4-0 defeat to their impressive Japanese counterparts in their second game of September’s Tournoi International in France. Saints teammate Jayden Meghoma was an unused substitute.
