Nico Lawrence seals Colchester loan
Southampton Football Club can confirm that B team defender Nico Lawrence has joined Colchester United on a season-long loan, subject to EFL and FA approval.
The 20-year-old centre-back enjoyed a successful 2022/23 season as he became a key part of the Premier League 2 Division 2 title-winning team before joining Torquay United on loan in the second half of the campaign.
During his short spell with the National League side, Lawrence won two Player of the Month awards and picked up the club's Young Player of the Season trophy.
He will now further his development with a step up into League Two as he heads to Colchester United for the upcoming season.
The club wishes Nico all the best and looks forward to monitoring his progress in the EFL.
