Academy trio receive U17 EUROs call-ups
Three of Southampton’s Academy stars have earned international call-ups for the 2023 UEFA Under-17 European Championships, which are taking place in Hungary this month.
Joe Andrews has been selected by Wales after helping them qualify for the nation’s first-ever men’s youth international tournament across any age group.
The Welsh youngsters have been drawn in Group A alongside tournament hosts Hungary, as well as Republic of Ireland and Poland.
Meanwhile, fellow Saints Tyler Dibling and Jayden Meghoma have both made England’s squad as the Young Lions return to the Under-17 finals for the first time since 2019.
England have been drawn in Group D with Croatia, Netherlands and Switzerland.
The group stage fixtures for Saints’ youngsters are as follows:
- Wednesday 17th May: Hungary vs Wales (7pm)
- Thursday 18th May: Croatia vs England (7pm)
- Saturday 20th May: Rep. of Ireland vs Wales (3:30pm)
- Sunday 21st May: Netherlands vs England (7pm)
- Tuesday 23rd May: Wales vs Poland (7pm)
- Wednesday 24th May: England vs Switzerland (2pm)
