What is the role?

The role of a Casual Security Officer will play a pivotal role in the safety and security of Southampton Football Club property. You will work alongside a team of Security Officers and assist with cover, ensuring that a personal, efficient and approachable security service is delivered at all times. Our sites are open all year around so we are looking for a candidate who is flexible and able to work potentially unsociable hours. You will be meeting with staff, visitors and high profile figures so will need to constantly provide a high level of customer service to all.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a professional, responsible and enthusiastic candidate with similar experience within the Security Industry covering medium to large sites/property. You will need to have exceptional communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring procedures are followed and instructions are carried out in a timely manner. We are looking for candidates with an ability to deal with difficult situations professionally and efficiently to meet the needs of the business and other relevant stakeholders.

The competencies which are required include:


• Proven experience within the Security industry.
• Experience in the Armed Forces or Police Service.

Qualifications (incl. certifications)


• Valid SIA Licence holder in Door Supervision.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

• First Aid trained.

• Relevant fire training qualifications.


• Valid SIA Licence in CCTV

• NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service

• Relevant Safeguarding training.

• Health and Safety qualifications.


• Assertive, well organised and motivated.

• Work on own initiative.

• Good team player.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Good communication skills.

• Security and Safety conscious.

• Basic IT skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages.
