Adams and Oršić ruled out
Ché Adams and Mislav Oršić have been ruled out of Southampton’s Premier League trip to Elland Road on Saturday, while Mohammed Salisu returns to first-team training.
Addressing the media for the first time as Southampton manager, Rubén Sellés delivered a mixed team news update ahead of Saints’ clash with Leeds.
“We have Ché Adams, Tino Livramento and Juan Larios out of the squad,” confirmed the boss.
“Ché is a repeat injury, and we have a concussion for Mislav Oršić from a couple of days ago, so that is going to take him out of the squad because of the medical observation following the protocols that we follow.
“That’s mainly it. We have [Mohammed] Salisu back in training this week, not sure he will play but he has the option to play tomorrow. The rest of the squad is fit and ready to go.”
The Spaniard also provided some more detail on Juan Larios’s return from his long-term injury.
“He has been training a couple of days this week for us and soon he will be able to compete. He will need to follow some steps because it’s a long-term injury. We need to be careful with a player like Juan.
A young player, a very young talented player that is working very hard. We don’t want to rush anything in this process but hopefully very soon he will be able to play games.”
