Final total announced for Saints Foundation limited edition shirts
Following the recent sales and auction of the Saints Foundation limited edition shirts, Saints Foundation is delighted to announce that more than £37,000 has been raised for the charity.
Back in February, Southampton Football Club teamed up with its Official Kit Supplier hummel to create the Saints Foundation limited edition shirt, to raise awareness and vital funds for the club’s charity as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The exclusive shirt was a white variation on the design of Saints’ popular third shirt and was debuted by the men’s first team during their FA Cup match against Coventry. Saints Women also wore the shirt for their Women’s National League Cup fixture against Hashtag United.
500 of the limited edition shirts were made available to purchase and proved popular amongst fans, with the shirts selling out within 12 hours of going on sale. All profits were donated to Saints Foundation.
The match-worn shirts from the FA Cup and Women’s National League Cup were then signed by the players and auctioned off, with all the proceeds again donated to the Foundation.
Saints Foundation will use the money raised to continue helping people of all ages and abilities live healthy, empowered lives in the local community.
Greg Baker, Head of Saints Foundation, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to hummel and the club for this unique opportunity to cast the spotlight on us in our 20th year.
“It was a hugely proud moment to see the limited edition shirts worn on pitch by both the Men’s and Women’s first teams and seeing both teams win in white was the icing on the cake.
“Thank you to everyone who bought a limited edition shirt and we look forward to using the money raised to make a difference in our community.”
