Salisu in contention
Ralph Hasenhüttl has confirmed that Mohammed Salisu is back in contention ahead of a Premier League double-header this week, as Southampton face challenges from Newcastle United and Watford.
Both ties are set to be hosted at St Mary's Stadium, with the defender said to be in the running to feature as Saints prepare to guard their longstanding unbeaten home run.
In addition, Nathan Tella has rejoined the training group but isn't available for the Newcastle fixture, while he continues to work on his fitness following a hip problem.
"No fresh injuries. Yes, [Nathan] Tella was back in session. But not available for the game. Sali, we'll have a look if he manages to play tomorrow [against Newcastle].
"Yes, in the end, the rest after the game [against Aston Villa] is fit, is okay."
