Ings ruled out
Ralph Hasenhüttl has this afternoon confirmed that striker Danny Ings is likely to miss Southampton's next few games with an injury sustained against Tottenham Hotspur last week.
Ings was withdrawn from the Spurs clash midway through the second period and will therefore be unavailable for Friday night's meeting with Leicester City, with no definitive timeframe placed upon his return.
The manager also dispelled any speculation regarding contract negotiations, reiterating that both Ings and fellow absentee Ryan Bertrand will be missing due to respective injury problems and nothing more.
"We have Ingsy, Bertrand and Romeu out," Hasenhüttl explained.
"Romeu is back on the pitch, but not training with the group. Michael Obafemi has rejoined training and no problems so far but isn't ready."
Elaborating on Ings's injury, he added: "It is not worse than it looked; I don't know if he comes back for the last few games [of the season]. We have Liverpool and then five games in two weeks so we need every player.
"It is definitely injury problems, not the contracts. Bertrand has a calf problem and hasn't been able to train. What else can I say.
"The target is clear, we want to have a much better way of securing points. We have to find back the quality to win during tight games. To show that we can do things better."
