Hasenhüttl: Belief is growing
Ralph Hasenhüttl says the belief is growing among his team again, as they look to continue a big month in their season with another victory on Monday night.
Saints head to West Bromwich Albion looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League, following their dramatic 3-2 success at home against Burnley last weekend.
That comeback victory was preceded by the 3-0 win at Bournemouth in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals, as Hasenhüttl's team responded to a difficult couple of months by finding form at a key point in their campaign.
With hopes still high for climbing further up the table from their current position of 13th, as well as the anticipated clash with Leicester, at Wembley Stadium, on the horizon next weekend, Hasenhüttl is hopeful of building a bit more confidence at The Hawthorns.
"It's always good for the confidence and for the self-confidence of every player that you win a game, especially the way we have done it on the weekend," he said, reflecting on the comeback from 2-0 down against Burnley.
"It was a good one because it's not so easy to turn things around when you have such a bad start, but finally I think it was, especially in the offence, a good game from our side and the guys did a good job. This is creating some self-confidence and this is helpful.
"Climbing a few spots in the table that we have lost in January, February, March would be helpful, and this is the goal definitely for the last weeks, and also preparing for an important cup game and, with a good game, you go with a little bit more self-confidence and belief in this game and this can be helpful."
