After contrasting starts to their respective EURO 2020 qualifying campaigns, Saints’ Stuart Armstrong and Jan Bednarek return to action tonight for Scotland and Poland.
In the day’s earlier kick-off at 5pm, Armstrong’s Scots will look to bounce back from the chastening 3-0 opening loss to Kazakhstan when they face San Marino, who are bottom of the FIFA world rankings.
The minnows opened with a 5-0 loss to Cyprus and have failed to score in all of their past nine matches, conceding 34 goals in that time.
For the second match in Group I – which also contains Belgium, Russia and Cyprus – Scotland welcome back captain Andy Roberton, Callum Paterson and Ryan Fraser who all missed out in Astana on Thursday night.
Later on in the evening, Jan Bednarek’s Poland face Latvia with back-to-back wins firmly in their sights. A clean sheet for Bednarek, backed up by a Krzysztof Piatek winner, set up an impressive 1-0 victory in Austria earlier in the week and will be in action from 7.45pm at the National Stadium in Warsaw.
The Poles are also joined in Group G by Macedonia, Slovenia and Israel.
