Saints to unveil Remembrance plaque

By SFC Media Wed 07 Nov Club

Southampton Football Club will unveil a commemorative plaque at St Mary’s this Saturday in honour of the ex-Saints who died in active service during both World Wars.

The plaque, which has been on display at SeaCity Museum’s We March On exhibition over the past few months, will be given a new, permanent home on the outside of the Itchen Stand.

A ceremony will take place at midday this Saturday, ahead of the Premier League match with Watford, which is the club’s annual Remembrance game.

It will be unveiled to the right of the Stadium Store by Southampton-born John Sillett, whose dad, Charlie Sillett, is among the names on the plaque, and also by Peter Francis of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, with supporters invited to watch.
