It's been a long time in the making for young goalkeeper Jack Bycroft, but, having been with the club since the age of eight, he's finally sealed his first professional deal.
On the eve of his 17th birthday, the teenager put pen to paper on a two-year contract, which secures his future until June 2021.
Already 6ft 3', the youngster discusses having the right personality traits to succeed as a goalkeeper, and making use of the club's support from a young age.
"I really enjoy it here, and who knows where it's going to take me," Bycroft began.
"Being in and around the senior boys has been a good learning curve for me. Obviously it's important to recognise where the game is changing and adapting.
"Ever since I was young I loved being in between the sticks and throwing myself about. You've got to be a bit crazy to be a keeper, but I enjoy it.
"When you make a mistake, as the last line of defence, it is about how you react and recover. That'll determine how far you go in the game. I've learnt that here.
"There's a few great characters in the Under-18s dressing room and I like to lead from the back, and do what I can to help the boys in front of me.
"I want to keep performing well for the Under-18s, and where I can, continue to train with some of the first team goalkeepers.
"I'm confident at this club, I can push to be the best I can. I'm hopeful."
