St Mary’s Stadium will host the opening show of Rod Stewart’s 2019 UK tour, in support of the release of his 30th studio album, Blood Red Roses.
Rod Stewart Live in Concert kicks off at the home of the Saints on Friday 31st May, in what will be the first of seven gigs across the summer.
Tickets from on sale from 9am on Friday 21st September via ticketmaster.co.uk.
Pre-sale tickets are available from 9am on Wednesday 19th September, and can be accessed by pre-ordering Blood Red Roses from HMV.com.
This will be Rod’s first UK tour in three years, following the success of two sold-out tours in 2016 – The UK Hits Stadium Tour and the arena tour From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits.
As one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, with more than 200 million records sold worldwide, his performance will include show stopping classics from his glittering career.
Concert-goers will also be treated to tracks from his soon-to-be-released new album, Blood Red Roses – a deeply personal 13-track collection of originals and three covers – which is released almost 50 years to the date from when he signed his very first solo recording contract.
Rod has earned countless of the industry’s highest awards, among them two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting, New York Times bestselling author, Grammy Living Legend, and in 2016 he officially became ‘Sir Rod Stewart’ after being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity.
