Southampton Football Club winger Josh Sims has today completed a season-long loan move to Championship club Reading.
The 21-year-old Academy graduate moves to the Royals for the 2018/19 campaign, linking up with Paul Clement’s side ahead of Wednesday night’s trip to Blackburn.
Sims has made 20 first-team appearances for Saints, following a memorable debut in a 1-0 home win over Everton in November 2016, when he set up Charlie Austin’s winner within a minute of the game starting.
The England Under-20 international also laid on Shane Long’s famous goal at Anfield in the semi-final of the 2016/17 League Cup, and now has the opportunity to gain valuable additional experience with a season in the Championship.
The club wishes Josh good luck for the campaign and will be monitoring his progress closely throughout.
