Pierre-Emile Højbjerg thanked supporters for giving the team such a warm welcome on its training camp in China.
Saints are currently in the Far-East for a two-week trip, as they begin preparations for the new Premier League season, and they have been tremendously received by fans, who have turned out in numbers at the airport, training, the game against Schalke, and also for the visit to Under Armour in Shanghai.
"It's always first of all very nice to be somewhere where you are welcomed warmly and well taken care of," said Højbjerg, while in Shanghai.
"Of course, with the jet lag, the heat and the humidity it is not always easy, but I think the whole organisation of the trip and how the boys have trained, and the game [against Schalke], has been very good.
"It's been very concentrated and very dedicated, and this is what you want to see in pre-season, is players who give everything and try to push the limits, because this is what we have to do."
Højbjerg, who is in China for the second time, having visited with Bayern Munich three years ago, spoke about how impressed he has been with the passion of the supporters.
"It's incredible how football in China is growing and it's quite impressive how they are all dedicated, how they are so supportive and how they are very fanatic about football," he said. "This is nice to see."
