Dušan Tadić is the second Saints players to get his World Cup campaign up and running this afternoon (1pm BST), after Cédric and Portugal played out a six-goal thriller with Spain on Friday evening.
Tadić's Serbia take on Costa Rica in their opening Group E game, and look in good shape, after striker Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a hat-trick in their final warm-up friendly - a 5-1 victory over Bolivia.
Mladen Krstajić's men haven't reached the knock-out phase in 20 years, but have a good combination of experience and youth in this year's tournament squad, which includes Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Manchester United's Nemanja Matic.
And while Serbia will be looking to break new ground by progressing out of the group, opponents Costa Rica have a challenge to match their impressive showing at the last World Cup.
The Central American side made it to the quarter-finals in 2014, only conceding two goals in five games and beating Italy and Uruguay to top their group.
