Video: Saints host sports science summit

By SFC Media Thu 17 May Club

Southampton welcomed a group of undergraduate students to Staplewood to offer insight into how sports science is applied within a Premier League football club.

Saints staff shared their knowledge from various fields including strength and conditioning, data analysis, psychology and nutrition to the students, who are all aspiring sports scientists themselves.

The format included lectures, practicals and panel discussions, as well as Q&A sessions with previous work placement students at the club.

Many of the club’s staff have followed the same path as graduates in sports science, so the summit provided a unique opportunity for over 50 students from across the UK and Europe to learn from the best.
