Southampton defender Jan Bednarek has been included in the Poland Under-21 squad for their important UEFA European Championship qualifier against their Lithuania counterparts.

The 21-year-old centre-half will link up with his international teammates after next Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final away to Wigan, ahead of the game on Tuesday 27th March.

Poland will host Group 3’s bottom-placed side in Lublin, as they look to keep up the pressure on leaders Denmark, who are currently one point and one place ahead of them at the halfway stage.

Each group winner will advance automatically to the 2019 finals, with the four best runners-up from the nine qualifying groups going into the play-offs.
