Dušan Tadić hailed a fine team performance after Southampton ran out 4-1 winners against Everton at St Mary’s in the Premier League.
Tadić fired Saints in front, and despite a setback when Gylfi Sigurdsson equalised shortly before the break, Pellegrino’s men turned in a scintillating second-half display to secure a precious three points.
“It’s a very important three points. We played a good game and also got rewarded with goals,” Tadić reflected.
“We have made our fans happy as well as ourselves. This is how Southampton should play.
“It was very nice after a nice ball from Ryan for my goal. But we played very well as a team, defending and attacking together. This is a crucial thing because then everyone can show their qualities.
“We always showed energy and we didn’t fall down when bad things happened. In the past during those moments we did that but we pushed ourselves, showed character and that was important.”
