Bertrand helps shut out Brazil

Ryan Bertrand was involved as a young England side kept a star-studded Brazil side at bay, playing out a 0-0 draw at Wembley.

The Saints full-back was one of five changes made by Gareth Southgate after the stalemate with Germany and the Three Lions registered consecutive clean sheets but weren't able to penetrate Brazil.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho struck the base of the post with a quarter of an hour to go, before Dominic Solanke was denied by a stunning save from keeper Allison.

Bertrand was withdrawn on 80 minutes to be replaced by Ashley Young, and will now return to the club to prepare for Saturday's meeting with Liverpool.
