Maya Yoshida's Japan narrowly lost out 1-0 to Belgium in their latest international friendly at Jan Breydel Stadium.

Captain Yoshida played 90 minutes as Japan were undone by a single Romelu Lukaku goal during their friendly with FIFA's fifth ranked international side, Belgium.

The Manchester United talisman struck in the 72nd minute, taking his seasonal tally to 16 for club and country, and in the process becoming The Red Devils all-time leading international goalscorer with 31.

With Yoshida at the heart of defence, Japan had defended resolutely up until that point when Nacer Chadli's superb run and cross provided Lukaku with the opportunity to power home a header.
