Manolo Gabbiadini and Italy headline Friday’s international fixtures, as the Azzurri take on Sweden in the first leg of the World Cup Qualifying play-offs in Stockholm.
The Saints striker was part of the U21 squad that eliminated the Swedes from European Championship qualifying at the same stage in 2012.
It is the first time Italy have featured in the play-offs since 1997 when a Pierluigi Casiraghi goal saw them reach the finals at the expense of this summer’s hosts, Russia.
The two teams meet in the Swedish capital tonight at 19.45 GMT before the return fixture in Milan on Monday.
Kicking off the day will be Dušan Tadić’s Serbia who meet China in Guangzhou at 11.35 in the first of three friendlies throughout Friday.
Just under half an hour later, Maya Yoshida is set to lead Japan out against Brazil in Lille at midday before Ryan Bertrand and England host Germany at Wembley at 20.00.
At U21 level, Jan Bednarek and Poland travel to the Faroe Islands for a European Championships qualifier.
