Ryan Seager’s MK Dons booked their place in the FA Cup Second Round on Friday night, sweeping aside non-league Hyde United.

The Saints forward featured for 69 minutes in his side’s comfortable victory that was all but complete by half-time courtesy of goals from Aidan Nesbitt and Chucks Aneke.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Ed Upson added further strikes midway through the second period to extinguish any hopes of a cup upset.

The weekend’s only other winner was goalkeeper Harry Lewis as Dundee United edged past St Mirren 2-1 to draw level with the Paisley club at the top of the Scottish Championship.

Elsewhere, Sam Gallagher played the full 90 minutes at Oakwell where Birmingham City slipped to a 2-0 defeat, their tenth in 16 league games at the hands of Barnsley.

Harrison Reed’s Norwich meanwhile were beaten 2-1 at Bolton, the midfielder replaced 20 minutes from time by Mario Vrancic.

Jordy Clasie was an unused substitute in Club Brugge’s 0-0 draw with Anderlecht. The result sees the Belgian side maintain their six-point advantage at the top of the table.
