Pellegrino: Results will come

Mauricio Pellegrino believes positive results will come Southampton’s way if his side continue to play with the same attitude and spirit.

Saints were three games unbeaten prior to Saturday’s defeat to Burnley at St Mary’s – a game in which the visitors were holding on for a point, only to snatch all three courtesy of Sam Vokes’ late winner.

But if Saints continue to dominate games then wins will be an inevitable consequence, according to the boss.

“The conclusion we can take is that we can dominate a game from the beginning in our way,” Pellegrino said.

“I will defend our style until the end, because I think playing in this way with this spirit, the results will be coming.

“I can’t say anything about our attitude or our spirit because we did everything to try to get something from the game.

“We created chances, but we couldn’t convert them.”
