With second place in their group already secured, Steven Davis and Northern Ireland will be hoping to seal a World Cup play-off spot today.

Davis captained his national side during their 3-1 defeat to world champions Germany this week – their first loss in a competitive home match since September 2013 – but will be hoping to finish on a high against Norway, in Oslo (7.45pm BST).

The Irish are guaranteed second place in Group C of the European qualification section, and look on course to finish as one of the eight best runners-up from the nine groups, which would ensure they enter the play-offs.

Elsewhere, Ryan Bertrand, who helped England seal qualification for the World Cup with a win against Slovenia on Thursday evening, will be hoping to help the Three Lions preserve their unbeaten qualifying record away to Lithuania (5pm BST), with Saints keeper Fraser Forster also part of Gareth Southgate's squad for the game.
