Mario Lemina was unable to prevent Gabon from slipping to a 3-0 defeat to Morocco in Casablanca.

The Southampton man played the full 90 minutes at the base of the visitors' three-man midfield in a game that saw Gabon’s chances of reaching next summer’s finals come to an end.

Yeni Malatyaspor’s Khalid Boutaïb was the star of the night, the striker netting a hat-trick to send Morocco to the top of CAF qualifying Group B at the expense of Côte d’Ivoire.

Lemina and co. will look to end their campaign on a high when they host bottom side Mali next month.
