After seeing off Stoke in assertive fashion last week, Rose is hoping the result will spark some forward momentum, as the 'keeper returns to his former club for the first time since swapping the Midlands for the south coast.

The 22-year-old signed for Saints in the summer of 2017, having progressed through the Albion youth system, and has made a handful of appearances for the Under-23s side ahead of Monday's Premier League 2 clash.

Previewing the tie, Rose said: "Obviously we've had a few bad results, and no one was happy with that in the dressing room.

"But we've worked hard in training and had a good result against Stoke which was thoroughly deserved.

"We'll be looking to replicate that against West Brom. Our goal is to go back up to the First Division and the only way to do that is by gaining momentum and carrying on winning."

Solihull-born, the shot stopper had been a part of the Baggies setup since the age of 10, but has expressed his delight with the switch to Saints.

He added: "It has been great, I've settled in well. The lads have been good to me, and the coaches as well. Really enjoying myself.

"It should be good to see everyone again, and hopefully we get the right result."
