Mauricio Pellegrino has praised the attitude of midfielder Mario Lemina following his arrival from Juventus.

Lemina has made an impressive start to his Southampton career, with the 24-year-old turning in a man-of-the-match performance in last weekend's 1-0 win away at Crystal Palace.

The display won him rave reviews from fans and pundits, and Pellegrino himself this week spoke about the impact the Gabon international has had.

"When we bring in a player it is because we think he can help us to be better, and Mario is a player who is coming from Juventus, playing at a high level, for a top team in the Champions League, and he has got the quality and the capacity to help us," he said.

"I am happy with him, because he is a humble guy who is always working well and helping the team, and I think he was a profile of player we didn't have.

"Now we are trying to move him in one position that he will be comfortable and useful for the team."
