Harrison Reed claimed the bragging rights over fellow Saints loanee Sam Gallagher as Norwich City edged out Birmingham City at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Gallagher played 78 minutes of the match but saw his new team-mates beaten by a solitary goal scored by Nelson Oliveira on five minutes.
Reed, previously an ever-present for the Canaries, was an unused substitute.
Elsewhere, Jordy Clasie came off the bench to make his Club Brugge debut, but the Belgians surrendered their 100 per cent start to the new season with a 2-1 defeat at Royal Excel Mouscron.
Goalkeeper Harry Lewis was left with mixed feelings as his Dundee United side drew 1-1 at home to Dumbarton.
James Keating’s late equaliser snatched a point from a game that was slipping away, but United missed the chance to go level on points with Scottish Championship leaders St Mirren.
Meanwhile, Olufela Olomola played 45 minutes of Yeovil Town’s goalless draw with Cheltenham Town at Huish Park.
The striker suffered a leg injury in the recent Checkatrade Trophy clash with Exeter City and is still rediscovering full fitness.
Ryan Seager, on loan at MK Dons, was an unused substitute as Robbie Neilson’s men picked up their first away win of the season at the expense of ten-man Plymouth Argyle.
