Saints midfielder Mario Lemina played the full 90 minutes as Gabon fell to a 3-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in Libreville.

Gabon started the day two points behind their opponents in Group C, with only the winners advancing to the World Cup finals.

After a quiet first-half, Max Gradel broke the deadlock on 53 minutes before a Seydou Doumbia double in the space of six minutes put the game to bed.

The result leaves Gabon in third place on two points, with the two sides meeting again in Bouake on Tuesday.
