New Southampton signing Mario Lemina could feature on the opening weekend of the season, with Mauricio Pellegrino revealing the player is in a good physical state.
The midfielder completed a club-record move to Saints from Juventus this week, and has begun training with his new teammates in the past few days.
Pellegrino wouldn't tip his hand as to whether he would play or not, but he confirmed Lemina is in good condition ahead of tomorrow's curtain-raiser with Swansea, at St Mary's.
"Physically he is good, because he has been training in Juventus, but we will decide between today and tomorrow if he will be part of the team," he said.
Pellegrino added that there are no major injury concerns ahead of the visit of Paul Clement's Swans team, although players such as Cédric, who arrived late in pre-season due to his Confederations Cup involvement, will be monitored.
The Saints boss also confirmed that Virgil van Dijk would not be available for the match.
