Mauricio Pellegrino believes next week's pre-season camp in France will be hugely beneficial for the Southampton squad.
With the last players now returning from their breaks following international duties, Pellegrino is excited by the opportunity to work with the whole group.
“It will be good for the squad,” started the Saints boss.
“We received the players all at different times after international competitions, so it was not easy for us to prepare every single week.
“Now we are in our fourth week and all of them will be included in the squad to train in France, which is good news for us.”
Pellegrino’s men will face Saint-Étienne in a friendly at the end of the week, before heading back for two more fixtures ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
And the Argentine admitted that now is the time the preparations will really begin to ramp up.
“Little by little, when we are arriving to the first Premier League game, we had to increase our dynamic and leave the players with more minutes on the pitch,” he continued.
“We need to keep improving because we need everyone to be as close as they can be at the start of the season. For us, every game is important.”
