Charlie Austin is looking forward to another successful pre-season camp next week, as Southampton travel to France.
Saints are set to enjoy a six-day training camp in Evian and will face Ligue 1 side Saint-Étienne on Saturday before returning back to England.
“I am looking forward to going away,” started Austin.
“You go away and it is hard work but there are only three weeks to go now, so we will go to France, enjoy the six days and work hard.
“There is also another big game against Saint-Étienne on the Saturday, so that will be more good minutes for the lads.”
Mauricio Pellegrino’s men will have less than a fortnight until the start of the Premier League season once they return from France.
And Austin admitted that the squad are excited to get the new campaign under way.
“Once we get back it’s only two weeks to go,” continued the striker.
“We have two more good home friendlies in Augsburg and Sevilla once we get back, and then basically it is here.
“That’s when the media stuff starts hyping up the start of the biggest league in the world, so to be involved in that, the 12th really can’t come quick enough for us.”
