Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce striker Sam Gallagher has signed a new four-year contract.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on the deal, having returned to St Mary’s following an impressive season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.
Gallagher netted 12 times for Rovers, despite a difficult campaign for the club in the Championship, and he will now link up with his Saints teammates for the start of the first-team’s pre-season programme on Monday.
Vice Chairman (Football) Les Reed said: “The experience Sam gained last season at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship was invaluable, and it was clear to see the further improvement that he made in his game during that time. Not only did he score 12 goals but his general play was impressive and highlighted his capability.

Sam Gallagher said: “I am absolutely delighted to sign this new contract. Especially to get it all done and dusted before the start of the season, because I can really get my head down and focus now on the year ahead.
