Southampton Football Club and global sports performance and innovation brand Under Armour have revealed the Saints’ home and away kits for the 2017/18 Premier League season.
Taking inspiration from Southampton FC’s kits from the 1980-1983 seasons, the home shirt echoes those worn by Saints legends including Kevin Keegan and the club’s all-time top scorer, Mick Channon. Stripes - synonymous with the Saints - are featured in the away shirt in on-trend teal and black colours.
To launch the new kits, Saints stars Manolo Gabbiadini, Ryan Bertrand, Fraser Forster and Maya Yoshida have been reimagined by the club as 80s superheroes in an animated adventure.
The animations – live now on the Southampton FC YouTube channel – see the South Coast players use their powers to rescue stolen designs of the kit from an evil villain, and return them safely to a top secret Under Armour design lab.
Released today to mark pre-orders of the new home and away match kits going live, fans can join the conversation across social media using #MadeForHeroes – with plenty of heroic activity planned across the club’s channels in the run up to kits being available at the end of the month.

Designed in Under Armour’s Innovation Lab in Baltimore, both home and away jerseys feature Under Armour’s four-way stretch HeatGear® fabric, which offers improved mobility alongside a Moisture Transport System, allowing moisture to be wicked away from the body to ensure players stay drier for longer.
The home jersey features a bold and fresh redesign focusing on a single vertical white stripe through the centre and rear of the jersey, inspired by the early ‘80s shirts.
The home shirt is complemented with black shorts with a red trim. Made from lightweight fabric, strategic ventilation is built into the shorts at key points where the body most commonly releases heat allowing for optimum coolness. White socks with a red band featuring the club’s ‘Saints’ nickname complete the home kit.
The away kit shirt features five teal-coloured stripes and is complemented by teal shorts as well as teal and black hooped socks.
The club’s ‘WE MARCH ON’ slogan is embellished on the outside back neck of both home and away jerseys giving them a sign-off unique to the Saints.
