Four Saints gear up for Saturday internationals

Four Saints players could feature for their respective countries in FIFA World Cup qualifying on Saturday.

Fraser Forster and Ryan Bertrand are both included in the England squad to face Scotland at Hampden Park in Glasgow (5pm BST).

Gareth Southgate’s men will be looking to build on the 13 points amassed from their five games, with four wins and one draw in Group F thus far.

At the same time, Steven Davis will lead out Northern Ireland as they take on Azerbaijan in Group C.

Davis was named among the substitutes for the 1-0 friendly success against New Zealand as Michael O’Neill fielded a more experimental side, but was introduced at the interval.

O’Neill’s side are currently sat in second position of the group with ten points, behind world champions Germany.

Finally, Florin Gardos could also be in line to play for Romania in their World Cup qualifier away to Poland (7.45pm BST).

Romania are currently fourth in Group E, while their hosts are top of the standings at the halfway point.
