Shane Long will miss Southampton's final game of the season with a broken metatarsal, while Cédric and Ryan Bertrand are both doubts.

Saints host Stoke City at St Mary's this Sunday, as they look to secure an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League.

They will do so without Long, with the striker unavailable after being injured in the 2-1 win at Middlesbrough last weekend.

Full-backs Cédric and Ryan Bertrand, the latter of which missed the 0-0 draw against Manchester United in midweek, could also be absent.

Puel said: "We will see if Soares can play this game and also for Ryan Bertrand. They have some pain, some tiredness, but we will see this tomorrow and the day of the game to see if they are available.

"Shane Long also is unlucky with his broken metatarsal, but we will see him next season."
