Shane Long has been included in the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of a trio of June fixtures.

The Saints forward is part of a 37-man group named by manager Martin O’Neill for the summer matches.

Ireland will fly to New York at the end of the month, ahead of a friendly against Mexico, on Thursday 1st June, at MetLife Stadium.

They will then head back to Dublin for another friendly, this time against Uruguay, on Sunday 4th June.

That will be followed by a 2018 World Cup qualifier at home to Austria, on Sunday 11th June.

Ireland are currently second in Group D, level on points with leaders Serbia, after their opening five matches.
