Jürgen Klopp has stressed the importance of winning against Southampton if his side are to finish in the top four.
Whilst the Liverpool manager wasn’t keen to reflect on the EFL Cup defeat to Saints, he was confident on what to expect from Claude Puel’s men.
“They are strong, that's what you need to know, that’s all, like the Premier League is,” he started.
“We know, I would say, pretty much exactly how they play, if they are all fit, you can imagine who will start and that’s a good thing in the preparation for the game.
“So we have to be ready for this game, we have to defend with all we have because that’s always the base for success.”
Liverpool return to Anfield on Sunday having drawn and lost their past two games their against AFC Bournemouth and Crystal Palace respectively.
Though Klopp doesn’t want his player to dwell on previous results.
“I think we all can improve” he continued.
“That’s what we should try and not to think about what happened in the last few weeks or months because it doesn't help.
“The only thing that helps is that we are at our best on Sunday at 1.30 until the final whistle, that's the only thing that we all should think about.”
