Vokins called to Euros with England Under-17s

Jake Vokins has been called into the England Under-17s squad for the UEFA European Championships.

The Southampton youngster will travel to Croatia with the rest of the squad this week in order to prepare for their first Group D game against Norway on Thursday 4th May.

The Three Lions then face Ukraine and Netherlands in their remaining games on Sunday 7th and Wednesday 10th of May with the hope of progressing into the quarter-finals.

17-year-old Vokins made his England Under-17s debut back in February when he started in the opening game of the Algarve Tournament against hosts Portugal.

This upcoming competition with be the 12th occasion England have qualified for the finals and they will be chasing a third record trophy.

The tournament will also serve as a qualifier for October's Under-17s FIFA World Cup in India, where five European places are available.
