Claude Puel praised Jordy Clasie and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg after the midfielders returned to the Southampton side in the 1-0 win away to West Bromwich Albion.
Both players have had to bide their time in recent weeks, but they were called upon at the Hawthorns to replace the injured Steven Davis and suspended Oriol Romeu.
Each of them had quite an impact too, as Clasie scored the decisive goal, while Højbjerg turned in a committed display that helped set the tone in midfield.
"I am happy for Jordy, because like Pierre, he produced a fantastic game," said Puel.
"It's difficult without a lot of game time to have trust, to play, and to produce on the pitch this quality.
"It is well deserved for them, because they have stayed the whole time with the good spirit and good attitude, and they have worked strongly in the training sessions and we saw this on the pitch. It's a good reward for them and the team."
