Crystal Palace might be trailing Southampton by three points in the Premier League table, but Claude Puel is anticipating a bigger challenge than the standings might suggest.

The Eagles head to St Mary's tomorrow evening for a Premier League clash, with Sam Allardyce's side riding a four-game winning streak, which was highlighted by last Saturday's 2-1 victory at leaders Chelsea.

Saints have won the past five league meetings at home against Palace, but Puel is taking nothing for granted.

"They have a good structure," he said. "They are a physical team, who have an organised defence.

"They work together very well in defence and also with good players, like Zaha, Benteke, Cabaye and Sakho.

"They are a good team who are in confidence at the moment. They can counter attack, use the long ball and try to win the second ball.

"They are physical, they are fit, and it's always difficult to play against a team like this. They are in confidence, so it's a good challenge for us."
