Claude Puel has confirmed that Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini is set to miss the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The forward missed Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Bournemouth, after picking up a groin injury in the defeat at Spurs last month, and has still not quite recovered from the problem.

Puel said: "I think Manolo will not be available for this game, but we will see for Saturday.”

The Saints boss also explained that Sofiane Boufal has a slight knock and will be assessed ahead of the game.

"We need to see about Sofiane Boufal. He feels something in his muscle, and after that we will see if there is any tiredness from the weekend,” said Puel.
