We have belief, says Davis

Steven Davis feels Southampton will travel to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League with belief in abundance after recent weeks.

The Northern Ireland international scored twice in last season’s meeting at White Hart Lane in a 2-1 success.

That was the last time Mauricio Pochettino’s men lost at home, but Davis says the squad are relishing the test.

“We’ll take a lot of belief from our recent performances and obviously the strong performances away from home,” he said.

“Also the character that we’ve shown in the last couple of games, we’re going to need that again because it’s a tough place to go and they’re a very good side. It’s a good game for us.

“I think the best thing to do is to win games and you get a lot of confidence from that. The performances on the whole have been very good over the last couple of games.

“It’s a continuation of that and hopefully we can keep the run going.”
