Danny Butterfield has warned Southampton Under-18s to be wary of a revenge performance when they travel to Leicester City on Saturday.
Saints saw off the Foxes 4-2 at the beginning of the month, and now they return in the play-off section of the Under-18 Premier League.
“I am expecting Leicester to come out flying,” started Butterfield.
“I think when you play a team so quickly after a good performance against them previously, it’s a sense of them wanting to put one back over on you.
“But we can only ask our lads to continue the consistent performances they have been putting in of late. So as long as they go into the game with a positive attitude they should be okay.”
Craig Fleming and Butterfield will be without defenders Yan Valery and Christoph Klarer for the trip north.
The duo have both been called up for international duty with France Under-18s and Austria Under-18s respectively.
“The two boys are off to play competitive football for their country,” he continued.
“That’s only a good thing for them and also the club that we have got young lads off playing at international level.
“It also opens the door for other players to step into the team whilst they are away, so it is positives all around.”
