Maya Yoshida says Southampton must regain their focus to push up the Premier League table.
After Sunday’s heartache against Manchester United in the EFL Cup, Saints return to league action with a trip to Vicarage Road on Saturday.
On the back of a hugely important win at Sunderland two weeks ago, Yoshida is now targeting a rise up the table ahead of the clash with Watford.
“We are not near the bottom or in the Champions League places, but we know that we must win every game,” Yoshida said.
“The Premier League is the most important competition for us and we try to get as much as we can. We will see what happens.
“After a heartbreak it takes a long time to recover, but we don’t have time as we need to concentrate on the Premier League.
“We need to show our reaction to the fans. If we play like we played at the final then it should be okay.”
Yoshida also feels as though the performance in Sunday’s final can give Saints the confidence to kick on.
“That experience will be very important for us, because we have to use it now and we have to grow up from this,” Yoshida added.
“Tactically we played much better, but individually they had the players that could change the game immediately.
“Now we have to continue to be as one.”
