Danny Butterfield has called for Southampton Under-18s to continue their good run of form against Leicester City on Saturday.
Saints travel north in a confident mood, having recorded consecutive 2-0 victories over Swansea City and Brighton in their two previous league outings.
“Off the back of two wins it’s a good opportunity for the boys to go three back-to-back,” said Butterfield.
“Once you have that momentum it is good for the group's confidence to take into games, so hopefully we can do that and build on it now.
“In the previous two games we have shown professional performances, both individually and collectively, so now it’s just a matter of keeping that consistency.”
Saints are currently 9th in the southern division of the Under-18 Premier League table – two places above the Foxes in 11th.
Though despite the league standings, Butterfield knows his men will face a tough test on Saturday.
“They are a good team," he continued
“We are expecting them to be a big, physical team with the odd technical individual – so they will certainly be competitive.
“It is a strong team we are coming up against, but if we focus on ourselves then hopefully we can continue our performances of late.”
